Job Title: Electrical MEP Engineer

Job Summary

• TheElectrical MEP Engineer oversees all electrical engineering operations across high-rise projects.
• This role ensures that all electrical systems—including high-voltage/low-voltage power distribution, lighting, elevators, fire alarms, and backup power—are installed, and commissioned safely, within budget, and in strict adherence to design specifications and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Pre-Construction:

• Review and validate electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications provided by external consultants to ensure constructability in high-rise environments.
• Analyze the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for accuracy and identify opportunities for value engineering without compromising quality or safety.
• Coordinate with Mechanical and Plumbing (MEP) engineers, Architects, and Structural Engineers to resolve spatial clashes before installation begins.

Site Supervision & Project Execution:

• Manage and supervise daily electrical site activities, ensuring electrical contractors and technicians execute work according to approved drawings.
• Oversee the installation of critical high-rise infrastructure, including heavy-duty transformers, generators, switchgears, and lightning protection systems.
• Monitor site progress against the master construction schedule and quickly resolve technical bottlenecks.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Enforce strict adherence to electrical codes and safety standards (including local certifications like COREN/NSE guidelines).
• Conduct regular site inspections and direct QA/QC testing for all electrical materials and installations.
• Oversee the final testing, commissioning, and handover of all electrical systems, ensuring a seamless transition to the Facility Management team.

Contractor & Resource Management:

• Evaluate and approve material submittals from vendors to ensure they meet project specifications.
• Certify contractor work progress for payment processing.
• Lead weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors to review progress, safety, and upcoming milestones.

Key Qualifications

• Education: B.Sc. Degree or B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 8+ years of post-qualification experience, with a minimum of 3-4 years specifically managing MEP execution for high-rise buildings or large-scale residential projects.
• Certifications: Professional registration with relevant engineering bodies (e.g., COREN). PMP or PRINCE2 is a strong advantage.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and electrical design/simulation software. Deep knowledge of high-voltage systems and smart building technologies.
