African Import-Export Solutions (AIES) is a fast-growing trade facilitation and logistics powerhouse. We empower local businesses, retailers, and commercial buyers by disrupting traditional supply chains. By bypassing costly middlemen, we give our clients direct access to bulk-volume pricing, effectively cutting their procurement costs in half. Having secured the exclusive franchise rights for the Gwarinpa territory, we are building a process-driven sales engine to capture the local market.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales Representative

Location: Gwarinpa, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

  • We are seeking an aggressive, results-driven B2B Sales Representative to spearhead our market penetration in Gwarinpa and surrounding Abuja regions.
  • In this role, your core focus will be Lead Generation ("Generation") and moving prospects smoothly through the sales pipeline ("Processing").
  • You will target commercial buyers, merchants, procurement managers, and bulk importers across key sectors, mapping out local business hubs, open markets, and professional association networks to present an undeniable value proposition: direct-from-source wholesale pricing and streamlined freight mechanics that transform their profit margins.

Key Responsibilities
Market Penetration & Target Segments ("Generation"):

  • You will map out, visit, and aggressively prospect high-volume commercial buyers, retailers, and professional networks within the exclusive Gwarinpa territory. Your primary mapping strategies will target:
    • Agricultural Products: Sourcing leads via large agricultural dealers, regional commodity markets, agro-input distributors, and food processing companies.
    • Food Products: Sourcing leads through major open markets, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, and wholesale food distributors.
  • Infrastructure, Energy & Building Materials: Pitching to developers, merchants, solar system vendors, and tapping into members of key professional associations such as:
    • Federation of Construction Industry (FOCI)
    • Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
    • Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB)
    • Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS)
  • Other Key Trade Verticals: Auto parts dealers, electronics merchants, fashion/cosmetics wholesalers, independent e-commerce stores, and local shippers/importers looking to optimize their supply chains.

Deal Cultivation & Negotiation ("Processing"):

  • Conduct daily cold-calls, field visits, and structured B2B pitches to introduce our direct-access import-export and bulk logistics solutions.
  • Manage the complete transactional relationship from initial contact until the deal is ready for execution.
  • Deliver compelling, value-based presentations showcasing how our supply chain network eliminates middleman markups.
  • Overcome common objections regarding international shipping timelines, customs clearance, and bulk orders by emphasizing our structural reliability.

Territorial Integrity & Collaboration:

  • Strictly manage and protect our allocated geographical boundary within Gwarinpa, ensuring all local leads are securely locked down.
  • Adhere to cross-over policies by coordinating professionally with other regional departments if a client’s operations extend into Lagos or other territories.
  • Hand over closed deals seamlessly to the operations team for flawless Fulfillment.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor`s Degree
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 - 3 years of proven B2B sales experience, ideally within freight forwarding, supply chain logistics, high-ticket wholesale distribution, or any of our core target industries listed above.
  • Local Knowledge & Network: Deep, active familiarity with Gwarinpa’s commercial hubs, plazas, major open markets, and Abuja’s broader trading dynamics. Existing relationships within local trade associations or professional bodies (e.g., NIOB, NSE, FOCI) is a major advantage.
  • The "Hunter" Mindset: A passion for outbound lead generation; you thrive on cold sourcing, knocking on doors, navigating open markets, building a pipeline from scratch, and closing deals.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills to pitch comfortably to corporate procurement teams and independent business owners alike.
  • Process-Oriented: Ability to work within structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and consistently hit weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
