Job Title: Renewable Energy Solutions Engineer

Description

• The Renewable Energy Solutions Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and proposing customized renewable energy solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
• The role focuses on system design, technical consulting, feasibility analysis, and solution optimization to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable energy systems.
• The ideal candidate is an experienced design engineer with strong expertise in solar PV systems, battery energy storage, hybrid power systems, and energy consumption analysis.
• This role is not suited for installation or maintenance technicians; it requires an engineer capable of translating customer requirements into technically sound and commercially viable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid solar energy systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
• Conduct energy audits and load assessments to determine customer energy requirements.
• Prepare technical proposals, system designs, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and engineering calculations.
• Size solar PV arrays, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and other system components.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), cost estimates, and technical specifications for projects.
• Conduct site assessments and evaluate project feasibility.
• Recommend the most suitable renewable energy solutions based on customer needs, technical constraints, and budget.
• Collaborate with the sales team by providing technical support during customer engagements and presentations.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
• Work closely with project engineers and installation teams to ensure designs are accurately implemented.
• Evaluate emerging renewable energy technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Review project performance and identify opportunities for system optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and design drawings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in renewable energy system design, engineering, or technical solution development.
• Proven experience designing renewable energy systems for both residential and commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Solar PV system design
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Hybrid power systems
  • Grid-tied and off-grid solutions
  • Energy modelling and load analysis
• Experience preparing engineering drawings, system layouts, and technical proposals.
• Proficiency in renewable energy design software such as Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar engineering tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical protection, system sizing, cable selection, and inverter technologies.
• Experience supporting pre-sales engineering and customer solution development is highly desirable.
• Professional engineering certification (COREN registration is an advantage).
