Job Title: Territory Development Officer

Locations: Mushin, Ajeromi, Apapa, Kosofe, Surulere and Amuwo - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Regional Sales Manager / National Sales Manager

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Territory Development Officer to drive sales growth, expand market coverage, and strengthen customer relationships within an assigned territory.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, increasing product penetration, managing distributor and dealer relationships, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Identify, develop, and acquire new customers, distributors, dealers, and retail outlets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, key accounts, wholesalers, and retailers.
  • Increase product availability, visibility, and market penetration across the assigned territory.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Execute sales promotions, product launches, merchandising activities, and marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, customer trends, and market developments, providing timely feedback to management.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and develop action plans to achieve territory objectives.
  • Ensure timely order generation, product delivery coordination, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor inventory levels at distributor and retail locations to minimize stock-outs and maximize product availability.
  • Ensure prompt collection of customer payments in line with company credit policies.
  • Resolve customer complaints and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, market intelligence reports, and territory performance data.
  • Participate in trade exhibitions, dealer meetings, promotional events, and customer engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, sales processes, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of proven experience in field sales, territory management, or business development.
  • Experience in FMCG, automobile, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, financial services, telecommunications, or distribution is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing distributors, dealers, wholesalers, and retail networks.
