We are Uni-medical Healthcare Limited Nigeria, a subsidiary of Unigloves Singapore, owned by UG Healthcare cooperation. Unigloves is one of the largest manufacturers of disposable products for the dental, medical, nursing, hospital sectors and for the industry. Our manufacturing company is N. S. UNI- Gloves in Malaysia. We have marketing offices in over 10 countries in the world including Nigeria, Singapore, UK, USA, Germany, China, Brazil, Australia, Canada and Japan. We supply a wide range of cross infection control products. We make and supply over 1.3 billion gloves annually to medical professionals, as well as specialists in the food, automotive, janitorial and care sectors. The company’s Head Office is located at Plot B2, Block 73f. Alakoso Avenue, Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate, Lagos with marketing offices in Abuja, Asaba, and Enugu.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HR Generalist

Location: Awumo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of the Role

  • An HR generalist in healthcare is responsible for a wide range of duties including full-cycle recruitment, managing employee credentials and compliance with healthcare regulations, handling benefits and leave, supporting employee relations, and assisting with onboarding and performance management.
  • This role requires a strong understanding of both standard HR practices and the unique compliance and staffing demands of the healthcare industry, and ensuring the organization adheres to federal, state, and local employment laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening resumes, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
  • Performance management: Support the performance review process and help create employee development plans to foster growth.
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and support a positive work environment through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Administer employee benefits, manage payroll processing, and handle compensation and leave administration.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies through record-keeping and policy implementation.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate and support employee training programs and performance management processes.
  • Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (physical and electronic), including vacation and sick leave, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Project Management: Work with external HR or other consultants on special projects as needed and support the management team providing HR guidance when appropriate.

Key Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience handling sensitive and complex employee relations issues.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • People management
  • Experience with global labor relations is preferred

Qualification and Expeprience

  • 5 -7 years’ experience as an HR generalist, preferably within the healthcare sector, manufacturing, or consulting is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience with ATS and HRIS systems.
  • A professional certification e.g.CIPM is required.
