Job Title: Regional Business Manager
Locations: Adamawa, Rivers, and Sokoto

Job Purpose / Mission
The Regional Business Manager is responsible for driving Ignite Energy Access commercial performance across the assigned region by leading high-performing sales teams, managing regional assets, and translating national strategy into effective regional execution.
Owns the full business performance of the assigned region, including revenue generation, profitability, cost management, and credit performance, ensuring that commercial targets are consistently met through disciplined operational oversight.
The role designs and implements scalable sales and customer credit strategies, leveraging data on sales patterns, customer demographics, and repayment behaviour to develop targeted, data-driven initiatives suited to a large and underserved consumer base in emerging markets.
The role leads the recruitment, training, and retention of a motivated field sales team including Team Leads and Mysol Power Champions while managing all regional assets such as Service Centres, stock, personnel, and marketing collaterals to deliver business goals efficiently.
It contributes significantly to IEA's strategic planning process at the regional level, with insightsfrom the region informing expansion into new markets as the organisation scales across Nigeria.
The role is field-based within the assigned region and requires frequent intra- and interstate travel to ensure close oversight of operations and team performance.
Lead the development and execution of Regional Business Strategies aligned with national goals
Deliver on Sales volume, revenue and credit portfolio targets for the region
Identify and pursue opportunities for regional market expansion and penetration
Generate market intelligence and insights to inform national commercial planning
Acquire new customers and increase repeat sales for our most creditworthy existing customers.
Own and advance relationships with key stakeholders
Provide leadership to the teams that drive sales and customer repayment.
Train and continuously re-train field sales teams to improve capability and drive efficiency.
Credit & Portfolio Performance:
Continuously improve customer repayment to drive healthy portfolio.
Implement strategies to enhance customer lifetime value through sustainable repayment and repeat sales
Ensure strong collaboration with credit operations and support teams to minimize portfolio risk.
Market Development & Stakeholder Engagement:
Create and own relationship management of key stakeholders within the sales process, especially with distribution partners (if any), Critical support functions, etc
Support in creating and maintaining relationships with current and potential commercial partners.
Represent the company with agencies and communities as needed.
People and Team leadership;
Recruit, develop and retain top performing sales and field teams across the region
Provide leadership, coaching and performance management for sales teams
Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration and customer centricity within sales teams
Sales and Marketing initiatives:
Test, validate, and refine IEA Nigeria’s strategic sales and marketing initiatives based on analysis of our unique data set and field-based insights, in order to amplify our sales model to drive new customer acquisition.
Operational & Resource Management:
Ensure optimal use of regional assets and marketing collateral
Monitor cost efficiency and ensure profitable business operations within the region
Uphold compliance with company policies, governance frameworks and regulatory requirements
Oversee inventory management within the region ensuring accurate stock records, timely replenishment and efficient distribution to sales channels
Monitor stock and implement controls to safeguard company assets.
Data Based Insights:
Use our unique data set as well as insights derived from the field to refine and iterate on our customer retention strategy, in order to improve payment velocity, repayment rates and repeat sales.
Change & Transformation:
Act as a change leader in implementing new organizational structures, processes and digital tools
Support national transformation programs by ensuring adoption and alignment within the region
Continuously refine regional commercial strategies based on field learnings and evolving market realities.
Qualifications
HND/ Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Experience:
5+ years’ work experience working in Mid/senior management levels within a progressive sale and/or financial services environment with strong, quantifiable results.
Knowledge and skills:
Proven experience and a passion for motivating and leading large teams to deliver ambitious goals within a commercial business environment.
Ability to draw the right insights from data to create and nimbly adjust strategy, make difficult decisions that often require tradeoffs, balanced with a bias to action.
Experience or passion for working in developing markets Highly Desired Skills
Ability to work both in teams and independently.
Passionate about solving problems for customers in rural communities.
Proficiency in English Language and 1 or more other Nigerian Languages
