We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Budget Control & Finance Executive

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time.

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly analytical, detail - oriented Budget Control & Finance Executive to own the full financial lifecycle of our regional marketing and commercial activities.
  • In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of marketing investments, managing everything from initial budget verification to final reconciliation.
  • The ideal candidate bridges the gap between strict financial compliance and fast - paced commercial operations, ensuring that every naira spent on marketing activities is tracked, justified, authorized, and perfectly closed out end - to - end.

Key Responsibilities (The Financial Lifecycle)
You will take complete ownership of the end - to - end commercial finance pipeline:

  • Budget Verification: Pre - screen and evaluate all regional marketing activity proposals against approved corporate budgets before any financial commitments are made.
  • Fund Advancement: Oversee the secure approval and release of financial advances for approved field operations and campaigns.
  • Expense Booking & Control: Track, categorize, and accurately log all ongoing marketing and operational expenditures in line with company accounting standards.
  • Liquidation Review: Audit and scrutinize post - activity retirements, expense claims, invoices, and receipts to ensure full validity, compliance, and accurate value for money.
  • Reconciliation: Conduct rigorous financial reconciliations matching approved budgets and advanced funds against actual field expenditures.
  • Financial Closure: Ensure all marketing projects are structurally closed out, fully documented, and reported with clean audit trails.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Sector Experience: 3 to 5 years of solid experience in finance operations, budget control, or commercial finance, with a proven track record strictly within the FMCG sector.
  • Sector Advantage: Direct experience supporting fast-paced Marketing, Sales, or Field Operations (preferably within the FMCG sector) is a significant plus.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

  • Advanced Data Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is non - negotiable (must be highly comfortable with Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP; familiarity with Power Query is preferred).
  • Operational Execution: Proven track record handling cash advances, complex vendor / staff expense claims, and high - volume account reconciliations.
  • Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail with an almost investigative approach to auditing receipts and expenses.
  • Drive: Strong follow - up and interpersonal skills to hold cross - functional field teams accountable to timelines and documentation standards.
