We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Information Technology

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Head, Information Technology will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Bank's technology infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity framework, digital platforms, and IT operations.
  • The role is responsible for ensuring that technology effectively supports business objectives, regulatory compliance requirements, operational efficiency, and customer experience goals.
  • The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of the Bank's technology roadmap while ensuring optimal performance of core banking systems, digital channels, cloud environments, networks, and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the Bank's technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Provide leadership in technology innovation, automation, and process improvement.
  • Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise executive management on emerging technologies and strategic technology investments.

Infrastructure & Systems Management:

  • Oversee the management and performance of all IT infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud environments, and end-user computing systems.
  • Ensure high system availability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Manage and optimize the Bank's Core Banking Application and related integrations.
  • Lead technology architecture planning and enterprise systems integration initiatives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and third-party technology service providers.

Cybersecurity & Information Security:

  • Develop and implement robust cybersecurity strategies and controls.
  • Ensure protection of the Bank's information assets against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead incident response, vulnerability management, and threat monitoring activities.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and industry best practices.
  • Oversee disaster recovery planning, business continuity management, and data backup strategies.

Digital Banking & Innovation:

  • Support the continuous improvement of digital banking channels including mobile banking, internet banking, and payment solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance banking operations and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with business teams to identify and implement innovative technology solutions.

Risk, Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with CBN regulations, NDPA requirements, cybersecurity guidelines, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular technology risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
  • Support internal and external audit activities relating to information technology.
  • Develop and monitor IT controls and governance frameworks.

IT Operations & Service Delivery:

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations and support services.
  • Ensure effective service delivery and timely resolution of technology issues.
  • Establish and monitor IT service performance metrics and service-level agreements.
  • Lead helpdesk operations and user support functions.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Prepare and manage the Bank's annual IT budget.
  • Monitor technology expenditure and optimize IT costs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the technology team.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to strengthen team capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role within banking, fintech, or financial services.
  • Strong experience managing core banking applications and digital banking platforms.
  • Proven knowledge of networking, cloud computing, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
  • Experience with regulatory technology compliance within the financial services industry.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.

Professional Certifications (Preferred):

  • ITIL
  • PMP or PRINCE2
  • CISSP
  • CISM
  • COBIT
  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Certifications
  • CCNA, CCNP, MCSE or related certifications
