About the Role

• We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mid-Level / Senior Associate to join our law firm.
• The successful candidate will provide legal advisory, transactional, and dispute resolution services to clients across various sectors while supporting the firm's business development and client relationship objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Client Representation:

• Provide sound legal advice and opinions to clients on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.

Transactional & Corporate Practice:

• Adviseon corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, and corporate restructurings.
• Conduct legal due diligence and prepare transaction documents.
• Support clients with regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters.
• Assist with company secretarial functions and regulatory filings where applicable.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution:

• Develop litigation strategies and manage cases from inception to conclusion.
• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, and other court processes.
• Coordinate with external counsel, experts, and relevant stakeholders.
• Attend court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution sessions.

Business Development & Client Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Identify business opportunities and contribute to client acquisition efforts.
• Participate in networking events, seminars, and industry engagements.
• Contribute to legal publications, articles, and thought leadership initiatives.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

• Supervise and mentor junior associates and interns.
• Review legal work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Support knowledge-sharing and professional development initiatives within the firm.

Qualifications & Experience

• LL.B and B.L. from accredited institutions.
• Qualified to practice law in Nigeria and in good standing with the Nigerian Bar.
• Minimum of 5–8 years post-call experience for Senior Associate level (3–5 years for Mid-Level Associate).
• Demonstrated experience in corporate/commercial law, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, or other relevant practice areas.
• Membership of relevant professional associations will be an advantage.
• An LL.M. or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.

• Sound understanding of Nigerian laws, regulations, and judicial procedures.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
