Job Title: Logistics Manager

Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the storage, transportation, and distribution of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished pharmaceutical products.
The role ensures timely delivery, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and efficient supply chain operations while maintaining product quality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Distribution Management:
Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure efficient movement of materials and finished goods.
Manage inbound and outbound transportation activities.
Coordinate shipments with suppliers, freight forwarders, distributors, and customers.
Ensure timely delivery of products while minimizing transportation costs.
Monitor transportation performance and service levels.
Warehouse & Inventory Management:
Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
Ensure proper inventory control and stock accuracy.
Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.
Implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) inventory practices.
Conduct periodic inventory audits and cycle counts.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality:
Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP), cGMP requirements, and company quality standards.
Maintain appropriate storage conditions for pharmaceutical products, including temperature-sensitive products.
Monitor cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled transportation.
Ensure proper documentation for product traceability and regulatory compliance.
Support internal audits and regulatory inspections.
Supply Chain Coordination:
Collaborate with Procurement, Production Planning, Quality Assurance, and Sales departments.
Coordinate material availability to support manufacturing schedules.
Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transportation contractors.
Resolve supply chain disruptions and implement contingency plans.
Cost Management & Process Improvement:
Develop and manage logistics budgets.
Negotiate transportation and warehousing contracts.
Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs and improve efficiency.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives and logistics performance metrics.
Utilize ERP and warehouse management systems to optimize operations.
Risk Management:
Assess and mitigate logistics-related risks.
Develop emergency response and business continuity plans.
Monitor transportation safety and security requirements.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations where applicable.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
On-time delivery performance.
Inventory accuracy and stock availability.
Transportation cost per shipment/unit.
Warehouse productivity and efficiency.
Compliance with GDP and quality requirements.
Reduction in logistics-related deviations and customer complaints.
Cold chain compliance performance.
Inventory turnover rate.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as APICS, CSCP, CLTD, or CILT are an advantage.
Experience:
5–10 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain operations.
Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, or regulated manufacturing industries preferred.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of logistics and distribution management.
Understanding of GDP, cGMP, and pharmaceutical supply chain requirements.
Inventory management and warehouse operations expertise.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Salary
N100,000 - N500,000 monthly.
