Job Summary
This is a senior leadership role for a finance professional who combines strategic thinking with strong operational execution in the FMCG or Distribution sector.
Job Objectives
Provide strategic financial leadership that drives sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and profitability
Ensure robust financial governance, support commercial decision-making, and align financial strategy with the company's long-term objectives
Lead the company's financial strategy and manage overall financial health through budgeting, accounting, reporting, and regulatory compliance
Provide insights that drive the company's financial performance and growth
Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and market dynamics
Provide financial insights and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions on pricing, expansion, and investment
Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to forecast future performance and guide long-term business planning
Business Partnering:
Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to optimize cost structures and improve profitability
Influence trade spend, route-to-market strategies, and customer profitability through financial modelling and analysis
Support strategic initiatives such as new product launches, territory expansion, and channel development
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements
Ensure tax compliance and manage relationships with tax authorities and external auditors
Maintain a robust internal control framework and ensure audit readiness
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic investments
Optimize banking relationships and financing structures to reduce cost of capital and improve financial flexibility
Budgeting & Cost Management:
Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly performance reviews, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
Monitor and control operating expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities across departments
Team Leadership & Capability Development:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Provide coaching and mentorship to finance staff, ensuring succession planning and talent development
Digital Transformation & Process Improvement:
Champion the adoption of digital tools and ERP systems to improve financial reporting, data accuracy, and decision-making speed
Streamline finance operations through automation, standardization, and process reengineering
Risk Management:
Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard assets and ensure business continuity
Monitor macroeconomic trends and regulatory changes that may impact financial performance
Key Performance Indicators
EBITDA growth rate, strategic initiative ROI, and forecast accuracy
Gross margin improvement and trade spend efficiency
Timeliness of monthly/quarterly reports and compliance score
Cash conversion cycle and working capital ratio
Budget vs. actual variance and operating expense ratio
Team engagement score, internal promotion rate, and training hours per employee
ERP utilization rate and number of automated processes
Risk mitigation effectiveness and business continuity readiness
Requirements
Education: B.Sc. Degree / M.Sc. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Experience: 15+ years in finance; minimum 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in FMCG or Distribution
Certifications: ICAN/ACCA certification required
