About the Role

• We are seeking to recruiting experienced Highway Engineers to lead the planning, design, delivery, and construction supervision of road and highway infrastructure projects.
• The role demands strong technical capability in highway geometric design, pavement engineering, and drainage, together with the ability to supervise construction works on site and to manage projects and clients with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the geometric design of roads, junctions, interchanges, and associated highway infrastructure.
• Prepare pavement designs, drainage designs, traffic management plans, and detailed construction drawings.
• Produce design calculations, specifications, bills of quantities, and technical reports.
• Use highway design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D, MX/OpenRoads, PTV Vissim) to develop and optimise designs.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and design reviews.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, and quality, and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs.
• Supervise highway construction works on site, ensuring compliance with designs, specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Review contractors' works, certify measurements and payments, and resolve technical issues during construction.
• Provide construction supervision and technical support, and mentor junior staff.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory/road authorities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree an advantage).
• Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in highway/road design and delivery.
• Registration with COREN (and membership of NSE or equivalent); Chartered status is an advantage.
• Proven experience delivering highway projects across the full design lifecycle.
• Proven capacity to supervise highway/road construction works on site to completion
• Capacity to work within a BIM (Building Information Modelling) framework is an advantage.

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong knowledge of highway design standards, pavement and drainage design.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and administer road construction works on site.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other highway design tools.
• Sound understanding of traffic engineering and road safety principles.
• Excellent project management, communication, and report-writing skills:
