Job Summary
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established passenger transport and logistics company with successful operations in Nigeria. The company seeks experienced and performance-driven professional to join its operations team as Internal Control Manager.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced, disciplined, and uncompromising Internal Control Manager to strengthen our revenue assurance, compliance, and operational control functions across our transport and logistics network.
The successful candidate will be a person of high integrity, strong ethical standards, and proven investigative ability, responsible for identifying, preventing, and minimizing fraud, revenue leakages, policy violations, and operational inefficiencies across all company branches.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control systems across all branches and operational units.
Conduct regular and surprise audits of branch operations, ticket sales, cargo operations, and cash handling activities.
Monitor compliance with approved tariffs, pricing structures, and company policies.
Review passenger revenue collections and verify remittances against actual ticket sales.
Investigate cases of fraud, revenue diversion, theft, misconduct, and policy violations.
Monitor POS utilization and enforce compliance with the company's cashless payment policy.
Validate branch expenses and ensure adherence to approved expenditure limits and authorization procedures.
Conduct forensic reviews and investigations where discrepancies are identified.
Review cargo and boot-loading operations to ensure accurate declaration and recording of revenues.
Develop fraud prevention and detection mechanisms.
Prepare detailed audit and investigation reports for executive management.
Recommend corrective actions and monitor implementation.
Train branch personnel on internal controls, compliance requirements, and ethical business practices.
Work closely with Operations, Finance, HR, and Branch Management to strengthen governance and accountability.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or ICAN will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 7–10 years' experience in Internal Audit, Internal Control, Risk Management, Compliance, or Revenue Assurance.
Experience within the transport, logistics, fleet management, FMCG, retail, or multi-branch operations environment is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of fraud detection, investigation, and revenue assurance processes.
Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and audit analytics tools.
Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
Ability to travel extensively to branches and operational locations.
