The Delta Special Economic Zone Management Company (DSEZ-MC) is the managing corporate entity and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) driving Delta State's industrialization and economic growth. It oversees the operations of the state's major free trade zones, positioning the region to become a major hub for business, agriculture, and innovation.

Job Title: State Knowledge Management & Communication Officer (SKMCO) - State Programme Implementation Unit (SPIU) Under FGN / AfDB / IsDB / Assisted SAPZ Phase 2 Programme

Location: Asaba, Delta

Background

• The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has applied for credit from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Islamic Development Bank (ISDB) to implement the AfDB/IsDB Assisted Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Programme-phase 2 in partnership with the State Government and Private Investors.
• The State Government in partnership with FGN and AfDB is desirous of engaging the services of experienced and competent project personnel from the state public/civil service in the State Ministries or its Agency to fill the vacancy above for the phase-2 of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Programme
• Successful candidates will be accepted on secondment from their respective organizations and such staff will continue to receive salaries from their parent organizations and a monthly performance incentive from the programme.
• At the end of the project cycle, project staff will return to their respective organizations.

Main Responsibilities

• The Knowledge Management & Communication (KMC) Officer will have responsibility for implementing, supporting and facilitating the KMC activities related to the Program implementation.
• The Officer will work closely with the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) Officer to provide leadership, guidance and capacity building in KMC and PME. The Officer will develop and implement the Program Knowledge Management and Communication Strategy.

Reporting and location:

• The position will be in the SPIU. The state KMC Officer will report, directly, to the State Programme Coordinator.

Qualifications and experience

• Higher-level University Degree in a field related to Communications, Journalism, Agricultural Extension or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in information, knowledge management, and/or development communication, preferably in the agriculture and rural development sector.
• Experience in extension services an advantage.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in ICT.
• Proven ability in documentation and advocacy; demonstrated capacity to develop and oversee implementation of presentations, communication and reporting skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
