Job Summary
Palmtime Resort is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations across all departments - Bakery, Eatery, Hotel, Bar, and Kitchen. The ideal candidate must have a solid background in hospitality HR management, demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires a strategic thinker who can design, implement, and enforce HR systems, structures, and control measures that promote employee performance, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and control systems aligned with hospitality best practices.
Oversee end-to-end recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to ensure that only the best talents are hired.
Coordinate employee orientation, training, and continuous development programs.
Promote and maintain a positive employee relations environment, ensuring fairness, inclusivity, and teamwork.
Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution with professionalism and confidentiality.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and hospitality industry regulations.
Conduct performance appraisals, identify skill gaps, and recommend improvement plans.
Manage payroll, leave schedules, benefits administration, and accurate employee records.
Partner with department heads to ensure alignment between HR initiatives and operational needs.
Lead employee engagement initiatives, welfare programs, and retention strategies.
Oversee health, safety, and hygiene standards across all resort units.
Provide strategic HR advice to management and participate in decision-making regarding organizational structure and workforce planning.
Develop scalable HR frameworks and SOPs that can be adopted across multiple hospitality branches.
Drive compliance audits to ensure HR systems, documentation, and practices meet internal and external standards.
Supervise HR officers, administrative staff, and ensure proper reporting structure.
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Prepare monthly HR reports, including recruitment metrics, employee turnover, and compliance status.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as an HR Manager, preferably in the hospitality sector (Resort, Hotel, Restaurant, or similar).
Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, HR policies, and hospitality industry standards.
Demonstrated experience in staff management, performance evaluation, and workforce planning.
Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Ability to handle pressure, multitask, and maintain professionalism in dynamic settings.
Proficiency in HR management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and digital HR systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification is an added advantage).
Strong ethical standards, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
