Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Construction Projects)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

• This role is ideal for a commercially astute professional with hands-on construction site experience who understands that successful projects are built on accurate measurements, disciplined cost control, sound contract administration, and proactive commercial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and project budgets
• Carry out quantity take-offs, site measurements, and valuations
• Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts
• Administer construction contracts and manage claims and variations
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and recommend cost-effective procurement strategies
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and verify executed works
• Prepare commercial reports and provide cost advice to project management

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Registered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) or actively progressing toward membership (Mandatory)
• Minimum 5 years' progressive Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry
• Demonstrable construction site experience on civil engineering and building projects
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, project costing, procurement, and commercial management
• Excellent understanding of measurement principles, BOQs, and valuation procedures
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quantity Surveying software
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills

Who Should Not To Apply:

• Graduates without practical construction site experience
• Quantity Surveyors whose experience is limited to consultancy or office-based estimating
• Candidates who are neither NIQS members nor actively pursuing membership
• Applicants without verifiable experience in project costing and contract administration.
