We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Okota, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • Agape Laboratories Services is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team.
  • In this role, you will play a crucial part in our diagnostic process by preparing specimens, performing routine laboratory tests, and maintaining equipment.
  • You will work closely with our Medical Laboratory Scientists to ensure accurate, timely results while strictly adhering to ISO 15189:2022 standards and quality control protocols.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Duties & Specimen Management:

  • Receive, log, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, swabs, etc.) across hematology, chemistry, and microbiology sections.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses under the supervision of the Medical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Operate, clean, and perform daily maintenance/calibration on laboratory equipment (analyzers, microscopes, centrifuges).
  • Correctly input data and patient results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Customer Service & Administration:

  • Provide professional, empathetic, and courteous service to patients during sample collection (phlebotomy).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certificate or Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Licensing: Current, valid practicing license with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
  • Experience: 1–4years post-qualification laboratory experience. (Strong, capable newly licensed technicians are welcome to apply).
  • Experience working within an ISO 15189:2022 accredited environment is a significant advantage.
  • Hands-on proficiency in phlebotomy (blood collection) and basic bench work.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of routine laboratory techniques and basic automation.
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy; experience with LIMS and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and medical ethics.

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work shift duties, including weekends, nights, and public holidays as required.
  • Alignment with the mission, values, and high standards of Agape Laboratories Services.

Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 Monthly.
