Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced Transport Excellence Manager to lead fleet operations, optimize transport efficiency, improve equipment reliability, and drive operational excellence across our transport and heavy equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient operation, utilization, and performance of the company's transport fleet and heavy equipment.
• Manage fleet operations involving cars, trucks, tippers, forklifts, excavators, payloaders, and other heavy-duty equipment.
• Develop and implement transport performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting templates to monitor productivity and operating costs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using operational excellence tools such as Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, and Gantt Charts.
• Analyse fleet performance and identify opportunities to improve equipment utilization, reduce downtime, and optimize operating costs.
• Ensure the effective maintenance and reliability of heavy equipment to maximize equipment life and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot recurring operational issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Work closely with maintenance, operations, and other departments to improve fleet performance.
• Communicate technical information effectively to operators, technicians, and management.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the transport team to achieve operational objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or related Engineering discipline. Candidates with an ICAN qualification and strong finance/analytical experience in fleet operations will also be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in fleet operations, transport management, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Experience within manufacturing, logistics, construction, mining, or other fleet-intensive industries is required.
• Strong experience managing fleets comprising trucks, tippers, forklifts, excavators, payloaders, and similar heavy equipment.
• Experience with Caterpillar (CAT) equipment, Sinotruk, Toyota, LiuGong, or similar heavy equipment brands will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with operational excellence methodologies such as Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fleet/service management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Salary
N400,000 - N600,000 / Month.
