Job Title: Electrical Technician

Location: Owerri, Imo

Job Summary

• The Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems, diagnosing and repairing faults, supporting equipment installation and commissioning, and carrying out preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults affecting manufacturing operations.
• Install, test, and commission electrical equipment and machinery.
• Maintain motors, electrical panels, switchgear, wiring, control systems, and industrial power distribution systems.
• Support the maintenance of water treatment systems, bottling lines, sachet water machines, bakery equipment, snack production equipment, packaging machines, compressors, and generators.
• Carry out routine inspections to ensure electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and electrical regulations.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Engineer to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.

Qualifications

• OND, HND, Trade Test, or National Technical Certificate (NTC) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years' experience in industrial electrical maintenance within the food, beverage, FMCG, water bottling, bakery, or manufacturing industry.
• Practical experience with industrial motors, electrical control panels, generators, compressors, and production equipment.
• Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and PLC-controlled equipment will be an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
• Good understanding of electrical safety standards and preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.

Salary
N600,000 annually.
