Founded in 2021 in Okija, Anambra State, Gonzaga Jesuit College is the fourth Jesuit secondary school in Nigeria, following those in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos. The Facilities Manager oversees the physical infrastructure, safety systems, utility operations, and maintenance schedules of all campus buildings and grounds.
This role ensures a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
Building Maintenance: Coordinate routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance for all campus structures, including classrooms, hostels, and laboratories.
Utility & Power Management: Oversee the continuous operation and servicing of critical high-capacity power equipment (such as industrial generators), water supply networks, and electrical systems.
Vendor & Project Management: Manage relationships with external contractors, service providers, and technicians. Supervise ongoing campus infrastructure projects and facility upgrades.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to national and institutional safety regulations, fire hazards prevention, and waste management standards.
Asset & Space Planning: Maintain an accurate inventory of institutional physical assets. Optimize space allocation across residential, academic, and administrative buildings.
Budget Management: Formulate and manage the annual facilities budget, tracking expenditures for repairs, parts procurement, and utility costs.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in property or facilities management. Experience managing operations within an educational institution or a large-scale corporate campus is highly preferred.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as IFMA (International Facility Management Association) or equivalent local engineering/management council registrations are an added advantage.
Other Requirements:
Availability: Willingness to be on-call for weekend or after-hours emergency facility responses.
Physical Stamina: Ability to conduct regular walking inspections across a large physical campus landscape.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems, and industrial equipment operations.
Project Oversight: Strong ability to read, interpret, and evaluate technical blueprints and contractor deliverables.
Software Proficiency (Preferred): Familiarity with CAD software and Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems for space planning and asset tracking is a strong advantage.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure during utility outages or structural emergencies.
Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate with institutional leadership, academic staff, and vendor teams.
Resource Allocation: Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, negotiate service contracts, and keep operational costs within budget.

Base Salary: Competitive (N150,000 monthly), commensurate with qualifications and depth of experience, structured within the institution's senior administrative salary scale.
