Job Title: Technical Assistant

Location: Abuja
Job type: Full time

Role Purpose

  • The Technical Assistant to the COO provides high-level technical, administrative, and operational support to ensure the effective execution of organisational priorities.
  • The role requires a highly organised, proactive, and analytical individual who can anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, coordinate cross-functional activities, and support technical decision-making.
  • This is more than an administrative role.
  • The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the COO by managing information, coordinating projects, conducting research, and ensuring timely follow-through on key organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:

  • Manage the COO's calendar, meetings, travel, and daily schedule.
  • Prepare technical briefs, presentations, reports, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, including agendas, minutes, and action tracking.
  • Manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Operations & Project Coordination:

  • Track organisational priorities, project milestones, and action items on behalf of the COO.
  • Follow up with teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and support project execution.
  • Maintain technical dashboards and provide regular progress updates.

Research & Strategic Support:

  • Conduct research on industry trends, funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, and market developments.
  • Analyse information and prepare concise summaries to support technical decisions.
  • Assist with proposal development, presentations, and business documentation.

Stakeholder & Office Coordination:

  • Serve as the first point of coordination between the COO and internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and technical engagements.
  • Support the smooth running of the COO's office and ensure effective communication across departments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience supporting senior executives in a corporate, technology, consulting, or development organisation.
  • Experience coordinating projects and working across multiple teams is highly desirable.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, MS and collaboration tools (Trello, Slack)
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Professional, proactive, and adaptable with a strong sense of ownership
