Job Description

• We are looking for skilled and dedicated Tailors to join our growing African fashion brand.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality African wear, ensuring excellent finishing, and meeting production deadlines while maintaining our brand's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut, sew, and finish African wear according to approved designs and measurements.
• Interpret fashion sketches, patterns, and production instructions accurately.
• Carry out fittings and make necessary alterations to garments.
• Ensure garments meet the company's quality standards before delivery.
• Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines and other tailoring equipment.
• Work with different fabrics commonly used for African wear, including Ankara, Aso Oke, Lace, Adire, Kampala, and Senator materials.
• Meet daily and weekly production targets.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe.
• Collaborate effectively with designers, pattern makers, and other production team members.
• Perform any other tailoring-related duties assigned by management.

Educational Qualification

• Minimum of SSCE, OND, or equivalent qualification.
• Formal training or certification in Fashion Design or Tailoring is an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of tailoring experience.
• Experience producing high-quality African wear is required.
• Experience working in a fashion house or garment production environment is an added advantage.

Required Skills:

• Excellent tailoring and garment construction skills.
• Strong knowledge of pattern interpretation and garment finishing.
• Ability to produce neat, accurate, and high-quality work.
• Good understanding of measurements and garment fitting.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to operate industrial sewing machines and tailoring equipment.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.

Remuneration

• Salary: N200,000 – N250,000 / month.
