Job Title: Information Technology (IT) Hardware and Network Officer

Job Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Hardware and Network Officer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the hospital's IT infrastructure, including computer hardware, networking equipment, printers, CCTV systems, biometric devices, and other IT assets.
The role ensures reliable system performance, network security, and minimal downtime to support uninterrupted clinical and administrative operations across all Skipper Eye-Q Hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Support:
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
Diagnose and resolve hardware faults promptly.
Perform preventive maintenance on all IT equipment.
Maintain inventory of IT assets and update asset registers.
Coordinate repairs and warranty claims with vendors.
Network Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Ensure stable internet connectivity across hospital locations.
Configure and maintain VPN connections where required.
Monitor network security and implement best practices.
Systems Support:
Provide first-level and second-level technical support to users.
Install and update operating systems and software applications.
Create and manage user accounts and permissions.
Support email configuration and Microsoft Office applications.
Escalate complex issues to external vendors when necessary.
Hospital Systems Support:
Support the Hospital Management System (HMS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Assist with user onboarding, access management, and troubleshooting.
Coordinate with software vendors during upgrades and maintenance.
Ensure IT systems remain operational during clinic hours.
CCTV and Security Systems:
Install and maintain CCTV systems.
Monitor storage capacity and ensure recordings are retained according to hospital policy.
Troubleshoot DVR/NVR issues.
Support access control and biometric attendance devices.
Data Backup and Security:
Perform routine data backups.
Test backup restoration procedures.
Ensure antivirus software is updated.
Implement cybersecurity best practices.
Assist with disaster recovery planning.
IT Asset Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records.
Track equipment allocation and movement.
Recommend hardware replacement and upgrades.
Ensure proper disposal of obsolete equipment.
Documentation:
Maintain network diagrams and IT documentation.
Record service requests and resolutions.
Develop user guides where necessary.
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Vendor Management:
Liaise with internet service providers and hardware vendors.
Monitor vendor performance.
Obtain quotations for IT equipment.
Support procurement of IT hardware and software.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with hospital IT policies.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational data.
Support IT audits and regulatory compliance requirements
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in IT hardware and network support.
Experience in a healthcare environment is an added advantage.
Experience supporting multiple locations is desirable.
