Job Title: Refinery Operator

Job Summary
The Refinery Operator will play a crucial role in the production process by operating and monitoring refining equipment to ensure the production of high-quality soya oil.
Your responsibilities will include adhering to strict hygiene standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
Equipment Operation: Operate and monitor refinery equipment, including DE gummers, neutralizers, bleachers, deodorizers, alkali refining, hydrogenation, and filtration systems, to process soy oil efficiently and meet quality standards.
Operational Excellence: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistent product quality. Conduct routine checks on machinery, promptly reporting any malfunctions or abnormalities.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on processed oil samples, adjust processing parameters as needed, and ensure compliance with quality specifications. Implement corrective actions to maintain product quality.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintenance and calibration of refining equipment to ensure proper functionality and reliability, and Collaborated with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly. Keep equipment in optimal working condition to ensure uninterrupted production.
Hygiene and Housekeeping: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and GMP guidelines to maintain a clean and sanitized working environment. Perform routine cleaning of equipment, pipelines, and processing areas to prevent contamination and ensure product purity.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment adjustments, and quality control checks. Prepare daily shift reports, documenting production quantities, quality observations, and any operational challenges encountered.
Key Result Areas (KRA)
The key result areas of this role are:
Ensure the achievement of production targets.
Delivery of high-quality Soya oil within specified standards and parameters.
Optimize refinery processes to achieve higher efficiency levels, reducing processing time and zero spillage/waste.
Ensure cleanliness and organization within the processing area.
Ensure the reliability and availability of processing equipment through regular maintenance and timely repairs, meeting GMP equipment standards.
The Person
National Diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in food processing or related fields are a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in operating refining equipment within a food processing or oil refinery industry.
Strong understanding of Soya oil processing, equipment operation, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with GMP, PLC systems, and panel controls is advantageous.
Knowledge of safety protocols, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Ability to conduct precise quality checks, maintain accurate records, adjust processing parameters, and ensure cleanliness in the processing area, meeting GMP cleanliness standards.
Strong analytical abilities to assess process data, identify inefficiencies, and propose effective solutions, and documentation.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report operational status effectively.
