Job Title: Expatriate Blow Room Technical Expert

Role Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Expatriate Blow Room Technical Expert to oversee the maintenance, installation, commissioning, and reliability of a Saurer Blow Room Line.
• The successful candidate will ensure optimal machine performance through preventive maintenance, rapid fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement while training local technicians to build a sustainable maintenance team.
• This role is critical to ensuring consistent fibre preparation and high-quality yarn production.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance across the complete Saurer blow room line.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, PLC, inverter, and sensor-related faults.
• Maintain machine settings, airflow, negative pressure, and fibre conveying systems for optimum operating performance.
• Support the installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of new equipment and outstanding line modifications.
• Manage critical spare parts inventory, particularly long-lead imported components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, machine histories, and conduct root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.
• Ensure all fire prevention systems, spark separators, metal detectors, magnet traps, and safety devices remain fully operational.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Train, mentor, and develop local maintenance technicians through practical, hands-on coaching.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards within a high-temperature textile manufacturing environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• HND, B.Eng., or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven hands-on maintenance experience on textile blow room or spinning preparation equipment.
• Strong experience maintaining Saurer blow room machinery or comparable European/Chinese textile equipment.
• Solid knowledge of PLC-controlled production lines, pneumatic conveying systems, inverter-driven motors, and industrial automation.
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up is highly desirable.

Required Skills:

• Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting expertise.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret machine manuals, electrical drawings, pneumatic schematics, and parameter sheets.
• Excellent preventive maintenance planning and spare parts management skills.
• Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and knowledge transfer skills.
• High commitment to safety, particularly around rotating machinery, dust, and fire hazards.

Working Environment:

• The role operates in a shift-based textile manufacturing facility with high temperatures and dusty conditions.
• The successful candidate will work closely with expatriate specialists while developing and mentoring local technicians to build a highly competent maintenance team.
