Job Title: Full Stack Development Instructor

Location: Benin City, Edo
Position Type: Full-Time 

About this Role

• As a Full Stack Development Instructor at New Horizons, you will guide students through the complete software development lifecycle — from front-end interfaces to back-end APIs and databases. You will design and deliver hands-on curriculum covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, and cloud deployment. This role is ideal for experienced developers who are passionate about mentoring the next generation of Nigerian tech talent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led training on full stack web development technologies
• Design practical lab exercises and capstone projects for students
• Mentor students on coding best practices, debugging, and version control
• Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and practical assessments
• Stay current with industry trends and update curriculum accordingly
• Provide career guidance and portfolio review for graduating students
• Maintain instructional facilities used for training and ensure the safety of students
• Research and recommend learning systems
• Conduct specific training for the trainee
• Give projects to students to test what has been learned
• Evaluate the effectiveness of each training session

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• BSc / HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or its equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in at least one front-end framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
• Strong knowledge of back-end technologies (Node.js, Python, or Java)
• Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
• Graphics skills will be an added advantage (Photoshop or CorelDraw)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization and multi-tasking abilities
• Post NYSC experience in teaching will be an added advantage

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Teaching or training experience is a strong advantage
• Industry certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) are a plus.
