Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Benin City, Edo

Job Summary
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the Benin–Asaba Expressway project, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery in accordance with approved specifications, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project stakeholders, monitor project performance, and provide strategic leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of the highway construction project.
Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
Coordinate the activities of engineering, construction, QA/QC, HSE, commercial, procurement, and administrative teams.
Monitor project progress against approved timelines and budgets, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure compliance with contract requirements, engineering standards, environmental regulations, and statutory obligations.
Manage project risks by identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies.
Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure quality, productivity, and contractual compliance.
Liaise with government agencies, consultants, clients, host communities, utility providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
Review and approve project reports, technical documentation, change orders, and progress claims.
Ensure strict implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies across all project activities.
Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
Drive cost control initiatives and ensure efficient utilization of project resources.
Resolve technical, operational, and contractual issues that may impact project delivery.
Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
Professional registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is required.
Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or other relevant professional bodies is required.
Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in civil engineering or infrastructure development.
At least 5 years in a senior project management role overseeing major highway, bridge, or transportation infrastructure projects.
Proven experience managing large-scale road construction or concession projects.
Strong understanding of FIDIC contract conditions, project controls, claims management, and contract administration.
Experience working with Federal Government infrastructure projects, development finance institutions, or public-private partnership (PPP) projects is an added advantage.
