Job Summary
The Incorporated Trustees of Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation[hereinafter referred to as “(WEWE)” a women-led, local not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Abuja, Nigeria, is seeking the services of an experienced and results-oriented Health Insurance Administrative Officer.
The Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is implementing a Health Insurance Support Initiative to improve widows' access to quality healthcare through the Federal Capital Territory Health Insurance Scheme (FHIS) and other health insurance partners. We seek a competent and compassionate individual to provide administrative support, maintain accurate records, and coordinate follow-up on beneficiaries' health insurance issues.
WEWE wishes to recruit a talented, God-fearing Health Insurance Administrative Officer who has a call from God to serve Widows and Orphans and who believes in working with local organizations. We are looking for someone who has integrity, recognizes Nigerians' ingenuity, and believes that the best of Nigeria can be better than the rest.
This position is being recruited based on merit. We do not have a pre-existing candidate and genuinely seek the best candidate to add value to the organisation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
S/he will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all widows enrolled in the Federal Capital Territory Health Insurance Scheme (FHIS), including enrolments, renewals, and beneficiary information.
S/he will follow up with the FHIS, Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), and healthcare providers to resolve beneficiary enrolment, authorization, referral, and service access issues.
S/he will receive, document, track, and resolve beneficiary enquiries and complaints, ensuring each case is followed through to completion.
S/he will monitor beneficiaries' health insurance status and coordinate timely renewals to prevent lapses in coverage.
S/he will prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on enrolments, renewals, unresolved cases, referrals, and other programme activities.
S/he will ensure all beneficiary records and supporting documents are complete, accurate, and securely maintained in both electronic and hard-copy filing systems.
S/he will guide widows on how to access health insurance benefits and navigate the referral and service delivery process.
S/he will liaise with designated FHIS and HMO officials to facilitate prompt resolution of beneficiary cases and strengthen working relationships.
S/he will maintain strict confidentiality of beneficiary information and comply with WEWE's record management and data protection procedures.
S/he will perform other health insurance administration and programme support duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Nursing, Public Health, Health Information Management, Community Health, Medical Laboratory Science, Health Administration, or another health-related discipline.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Experience in health insurance administration, healthcare administration, or HMO operations is required.
Experience Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate experience in:
Working with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) such as Reliance Health, AXA Mansard, or similar organizations.
Managing health insurance enrolment for Widows and other beneficiary records.
Following up on authorization requests, referrals, complaints, and beneficiary case management.
Working with vulnerable populations, community health programmes, NGOs, or donor-funded projects is an added advantage.
Maintaining electronic and manual records with high accuracy.
