Job Title: Engineering Store Supervisor
Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Department: Engineering & Maintenance
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Job Purpose
To supervise the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Store by ensuring the efficient receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and inventory control of engineering spare parts, maintenance tools, consumables, utilities materials, and equipment required to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
The role ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards, and company inventory management procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Store Operations:
Supervise the daily operations of the Engineering Store to ensure efficient and timely support for maintenance activities.
Coordinate the receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and return of engineering spare parts, tools, consumables, and maintenance materials.
Ensure all engineering materials are properly identified, labelled, and stored in designated locations.
Maintain appropriate storage conditions to preserve the integrity of engineering materials and equipment.
Ensure timely issuance of spare parts to maintenance personnel to minimise equipment downtime.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records for engineering spare parts and consumables.
Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate replenishment requests for critical items.
Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual stock counts and reconciliations.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and non-moving inventory and recommend appropriate actions.
Ensure critical spare parts are always available to support manufacturing operations.
ERP & Documentation:
Process all engineering store transactions accurately in the ERP system (Oracle preferred).
Maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), Material Requisition Notes (MRNs), Goods Issue Notes (GINs), Bin Cards, and inventory records.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and consumption reports.
Maintain complete documentation for internal and external audits.
Procurement Support:
Work closely with the Procurement Department to monitor purchase requisitions and purchase orders for engineering materials.
Follow up on pending deliveries of critical spare parts.
Assist in identifying suitable specifications for engineering materials and spare parts.
Support vendor evaluation by providing feedback on the quality and performance of supplied materials.
Team Supervision:
Supervise Engineering Store personnel and allocate daily responsibilities.
Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to store procedures.
Coach and train team members on inventory management, GMP requirements, ERP usage, and safety procedures.
Foster teamwork and continuous improvement within the Engineering Store.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with:
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements
Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Engineering inventory control procedures
Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Implement corrective and preventive actions arising from audit findings.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe Engineering Store.
Ensure proper handling and storage of engineering materials, lubricants, chemicals, and tools.
Enforce the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Report unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve engineering store processes and inventory accuracy.
Support spare parts standardisation and inventory optimisation initiatives.
Recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce stock losses.
Qualifications
HND or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Professional certification in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or Engineering Stores Management is an added advantage.
Experience:
4–6 years' experience in engineering store or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
Experience in the pharmaceutical, FMCG, or manufacturing industry is preferred.
Experience using ERP systems, preferably Oracle, is an added advantage.
