Job Title: Digital Editor & Illustrator

Description

• Chelis Bookazine Limited, Nigeria's leading supplier of educational materials, is seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented, and experienced Digital Editor & Illustrator to join our team at our Head Office in Surulere, Lagos State.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, illustrating, and publishing high-quality content across our print and digital platforms.
• The ideal applicant will be serving as the lead editor of a public magazine, with strong expertise in publishing, editorial management, illustration, graphic design, content development, and digital publishing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and oversee high-quality content for print and digital publications.
• Create illustrations, graphics, and visual content that enhance editorial publications.
• Write, edit, proofread, and fact-check articles, features, and other editorial content.
• Ensure all publications meet editorial standards for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
• Design and prepare layouts for magazines, brochures, books, and other publications.
• Manage editorial calendars and ensure timely publication schedules.
• Collaborate with writers, photographers, designers, and other contributors to produce engaging content.
• Create and curate content for digital platforms, including social media and websites.
• Research industry trends to improve editorial quality and audience engagement.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of writers and content contributors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mass Communication, Journalism, English Language, Communications, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or any related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as the lead editor of a public magazine or similar publication.
• Strong illustration and graphic design skills with an impressive portfolio.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong editorial, proofreading, and copywriting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant design and editing software.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of driving will be an added advantage.
• Candidates living in close proximity to Bode Thomas Surulere Road would be a plus.

Salary
N160,000 - N180,000 monthly.
