About the Opportunity

• As the organization continues its journey toward becoming a preferred logistics company, it is seeking an exceptionalChief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead its next phase of growth.
• This is more than an operations role. It is an opportunity to build scalable systems, strengthen leadership, improve accountability, and drive operational excellence across a growing organization.

The Role

• Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations, lead departmental managers, and support the transition from founder-led operations to a structured, high-performing, and systems-driven organization.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for improving operational efficiency, strengthening service delivery, building accountability, and enabling sustainable growth across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations across all business functions.
• Drive operational excellence and continuous process improvement.
• Manage, coach, and develop department heads and operational teams.
• Implement performance management systems and operational KPIs.
• Improve customer service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Establish stronger accountability, governance, and execution discipline across the organization.
• Partner with the CEO to execute strategic initiatives and organizational transformation.
• Monitor business performance and ensure consistent execution across all branches.
• Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Develop policies, procedures, and systems that support business growth.
• Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and communication.
• Ensure teams meet agreed service standards, timelines, and performance expectations.

Requirements
Our Partner is looking for a proven operations leader who possesses:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
• A Master’s degree, such as an MBA, M.Sc., or equivalent qualification.
• Six to ten years of progressive leadership experience.
• Strong experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and improving operational performance.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and people management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing operational systems, processes, policies, and KPIs.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly accountable environment.
• A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required.
• Relevant professional certifications in management, leadership, logistics, or supply chain management are an added advantage.
