We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Officer

Location: Maryland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring engineering and construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Prepare project schedules, work plans, progress reports, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams, and document minutes and action items.
  • Track project milestones and ensure timely follow-up on assigned tasks.
  • Support procurement activities by coordinating material requests, supplier communications, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor site activities and prepare periodic project progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify project risks and escalate issues that may affect project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of project documents, contracts, drawings, correspondence, and reports.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, consultants, and relevant stakeholders when required.
  • Assist with project close-out activities, including documentation, handover, and final reporting.
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years' relevant experience in project coordination within an engineering or construction environment.
  • Membership or affiliation with relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of engineering and construction processes.
  • Ability to interpret project schedules, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
