Hire Haven - Our client is a leading integrated agribusiness operating a US$40 million feed mill and poultry enterprise in Ngor Okpalla, Imo State. Our operations include a 10-metric-tonne-per-hour automated feed mill and a modern poultry facility with a total capacity of approximately 880,000 birds, producing an estimated 178 million eggs annually. We are committed to operational excellence, product quality, innovation, and sustainable growth across the poultry value chain.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales and Distribution Manager

Location: Ngor Okpalla, Imo

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Sales and Distribution Manager to lead our commercial operations.
  • Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening our distributor network, expanding market share, improving collections, and ensuring efficient product movement across our sales territories.
  • The role will initially focus on the South East and South South markets, with responsibility for supporting future expansion into other regions of Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies that deliver profitable revenue and market share growth.
  • Drive sales of poultry feed products and commercial eggs across multiple channels.
  • Build, manage, and expand a high-performing distributor and dealer network.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial farms, agro-dealers, wholesalers, retailers, institutional buyers, and key accounts.
  • Lead territory planning, sales forecasting, pricing execution, customer relationship management, and collections.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Warehousing, and Logistics to align demand with supply.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
  • Recruit, coach, and lead a high-performing sales team while driving a culture of accountability and performance.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Agribusiness, Marketing, Sales Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years' commercial experience in animal feed, poultry inputs, livestock products, or a closely related agribusiness. Candidates whose experience is limited to general FMCG sales without agribusiness exposure will not be considered.
  • At least 3–5 years' experience leading regional, multi-state, or national sales teams and distributor networks.
  • Proven success in growing revenue, market share, margins, customer relationships, and collections.
  • Strong knowledge of distributor management, route-to-market strategy, sales forecasting, pricing, and commercial operations.
  • An established commercial network within the South East and South South regions will be an added advantage.
  • Experience selling commercial eggs or other agricultural or perishable products is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across assigned territories.
