We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Batching Plant Operator

Location: Abuja (FCT) 

• Job Summary
• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Batching Plant Operator to join our construction team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining a concrete batching plant, ensuring the production of high-quality concrete that meets project specifications while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the concrete batching plant in accordance with production schedules.
• Produce concrete mixes that comply with approved mix designs and quality standards.
• Monitor batching operations to ensure accuracy in material proportions.
• Inspect plant equipment daily and report faults or maintenance requirements.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory, and batching records.
• Coordinate with site engineers, quality control personnel, and dispatch teams.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of cement, aggregates, admixtures, and other raw materials.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Keep the batching plant clean, organized, and operational at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience operating a concrete batching plant.
• Strong understanding of concrete mix designs and batching processes.
• Ability to identify and resolve operational and mechanical issues.
• Knowledge of batching software and automated plant control systems is an added advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience operating computerized batching plants.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures for concrete production.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
• Strong record-keeping and reporting abilities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
