Job Title: Senior Litigation and Commercial Counsel

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

• We are seeking a motivated and experienced litigation and commercial counselto manage the organization’s dispute resolution portfolio while providing strategic legal support on commercial transactions.
• The role combines litigation oversight with advisory functions on contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk management to protect the company’s legal and commercial interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
• Supply and distribution agreements, Service contracts, Joint venture and partnership agreements
• Provide legal support on transactions, including M&A, financing, and restructuring.
• Advise on applicable laws and regulations affecting the business.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and corporate governance standards.
• Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
• Develop strategies to minimize exposure to litigation and liability.
• Interacting and integrating with other departments in the Company around cost management, loss and such other things that may lead to a breach of contract or violation of laws
• Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
• Supervise and coordinate junior legal department members.
• Mentor and develop internal legal talent.

Qualifications

• LLB Degree in Law
• BL Degree /Call to the Nigerian Bar
• ICSAN Membership
• MBA or BSc in Business Administration will be an advantage;
• A minimum of 10 years working as a Legal Counsel for businesses.
• A proven track record of creating effective legal strategies.
