We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Head, Credit Admin, Documentation and Governance
Provides leadership and oversight for credit administration, documentation, collateral management, loan disbursement, and post approval credit controls across the Bank.
Ensures approved credit facilities are properly documented, disbursed, maintained, and monitored in line with approval terms, credit policies, regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s risk appetite.
Drives strong credit governance, enforceable security documentation, timely exception resolution, and continuous improvement across credit administration processes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end credit administration, documentation, collateral management, loan disbursement, and post approval credit controls across the Bank.
Ensure approved credit facilities are documented, disbursed, maintained, and monitored in line with approval terms, credit policies, regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s risk appetite.
Confirm that all pre-disbursement conditions, including documentation, collateral, approvals, insurance, legal clearance, and security perfection, are satisfied before disbursement
Ensure all credit and security documentation is complete, valid, enforceable, properly executed, and safely maintained
Liaise with Legal, Business, Credit Risk, and external solicitors to ensure adequate documentation, security perfection, and collateral enforceability.
Monitor unauthorized overdrafts, expired facilities, temporary accommodations, overdue reviews, documentation exceptions, and other credit breaches for timely escalation and resolution
Oversee collateral valuation, registration, perfection, insurance monitoring, custody, and release in line with approved policies.
Review credit administration reports, exception reports, deferral reports, collateral reports, and other control reports for accuracy and completeness.
Support the identification and escalation of potential problem loans, documentation gaps, and control weaknesses
Coordinate credit administration inputs for internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, management reviews, and credit governance forums
Drive process improvement, automation, and digitization across documentation, collateral tracking, deferral monitoring, loan booking, and reporting
Provide leadership, coaching, supervision, and performance management for the Credit Administration, Documentation, Collateral Management, and Governance teams
Perform other functions as assigned by the Chief Risk Officer

Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory:
First Degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Law, Risk Management, or any related discipline
Minimum of 12 years’ post-qualification experience in banking or financial services, with strong exposure to credit risk management
Must possess relevant professional certification or membership in banking, credit, risk management, finance, accounting, legal practice, or governance, such as CIBN, ICAN, ACCA, CFA, FRM, or CRC
Strong knowledge of credit policies, lending documentation, collateral structures, approval conditions, regulatory requirements, and banking operations
Desirable:
Relevant master’s degree, such as MBA, MSc Finance, MSc Risk Management, or related field
