Job Title: Night Well Supervisor

Reporting To: Senior Well Supervisor / Drilling & Completions Superintendent
Job Purpose
The Night Well Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous execution of well completion, workover, well cleanup, well testing, and rig-supported well intervention operations during night shifts.
The role ensures compliance with company policies, industry standards, and HSE requirements while delivering operational objectives safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Supervise all night-time well operations, ensuring execution in accordance with approved well programs and company procedures.
Ensure all materials, equipment, and services required for operations are mobilized and available at the well site as planned.
Monitor operational activities and well parameters before, during, and after operations.
Coordinate service providers and contractors at the well site to ensure safe and efficient execution of operations.
Conduct pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, and Time-Out-for-Safety sessions to communicate operational objectives, hazards, and controls.
Ensure completion equipment is fit for purpose, properly prepared, and meets operational timelines.
Prepare well handover documentation and ensure smooth shift transitions.
HSE Leadership:
Demonstrate visible commitment to Company HSE policies and standards.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company procedures, and industry best practices.
Promote personnel safety, environmental protection, and safeguarding of company assets.
Verify that all completion, testing, intervention, and related operations comply with approved risk assessments and company requirements.
Identify and mitigate operational risks to prevent incidents and well control events.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
Maintain accurate operational records, daily reports, contractor performance reports, and well data management systems.
Investigate operational issues, document lessons learned, and provide recommendations for performance improvement.
Escalate operational anomalies and critical observations to the direct supervisor immediately.
Initiate Management of Change (MOC) requests when deviations from approved programs are required.
Identify opportunities to improve well performance, operational efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness.
HSE Accountabilities:
Ensure full compliance with Company HSE requirements.
Participate actively in safety initiatives and campaigns.
Monitor contractor HSE performance and compliance.
Maintain a strong safety culture through leadership and intervention.
Ensure all personnel understand operational risks and mitigation measures before commencing work.
Qualifications
HND or B.Sc. Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 1 year relevant field experience in drilling, completion, workover, or well intervention operations.
Experience & Technical Competencies:
Knowledge of well completion operations and drilling / completion techniques.
Understanding of surface well testing and well intervention equipment.
Basic knowledge of operations contract management and drilling/completion cost control.
Familiarity with local regulations and industry best practices governing well operations.
Strong analytical, reporting, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Required Certifications:
IWCF Level 4 Supervisor – Well Intervention Pressure Control (or capability to obtain shortly after assignment).
BOSIET/THUET certification.
Current Offshore Medical Certificate.
Category A Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
Valid Offshore Safety Permit (OSP), where applicable.
