Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) Clinical Services Recruitment (4 Positions)

Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) is a leading indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes better healthcare for all Nigerians through the creation of strong and sustainable health systems. CIHP is consistent with global orientation towards the transfer of program management and implementation responsibilities of donor-supported programs to indigenous organizations. This is aimed at increasing local ownership, funding effectiveness and strengthening of local talent for the adequate provision of quality technical assistance for healthcare and development in Nigeria as part of the US President's Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR II )'s central sustainability theme. We are recruiting for the positions of:

1.) Senior Clinical Services Associate (Pediatrics)

Location: Kaduna and Kogi

• Incumbent serves as a resource for the evaluation of ongoing pediatric care and treatment programs, and subsequent development of new and/or expanded programs for the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS in infants, children, and teenagers
• Perform site visits and assessments of treatment facilities to assess, initiate, and enhance pediatric care and treatment services
• Develop linkages with PMTCT programs to ensure follow-up of HIV-exposed infants .Support the identification of early infant diagnostic testing initiatives, HIV-exposed and infected children including pediatric testing programs, pediatric HIV testing in adult clinics, linkages with VC, etc.
• Provide technical support with other clinical service officers and related technical program units.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability

• A degree in Public Health, Nursing or a strongly related discipline is required
• At least 3 years post NYSC clinical experience in HIV/AIDS care and anti-retroviral treatment. Experience in managing Pediatric patients and health care program development
• Excellent grasp of clinical issues and current literature in Pediatrics, HIV/AIDS
• Training facilitation experience an added advantage technical support to facility staff in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.

2.) Senior Clinical Associate - Adult ART

Location: Benue, Kaduna and Gombe

• Incumbent will be responsible for providing technical support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment, working clinicians and health facility based site teams to implement care and treatment services
• Participate in the development and review of training curricula for site staff on clinical management of HIV/AIDS
• Provide mentoring and hands-on supervision to site clinicians, serve as a resource for service delivery evaluation
• Develop and refine program materials such as clinical guidelines, protocols, algorithms, drug formularies and training materials
• Liaise with others on the relevant care and support activities implemented at CBOs and health facilities
• Provide support, build and strengthen community based structures and systems through which services are delivered.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability

• Advanced Medical Degree (MD preferred)
• At least 3 years post NYSC clinical experience in HIV/AIDS care and treatment especially in adult treatment
• Excellent knowledge of clinical issues and current literature in HIV/AIDS treatment .Experience in developing country health care programs .Experience in training
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and make reasoned judgments in a timely fashion.
• Experience of dealing with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.

3.) Clinical Services Associate (TB)

Location: Abuja

• Incumbent provides support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment, work with CSO TB/HIV to implement TB/HIV integration, and work in close collaboration with the State offices Clinical Services Officer (TB/HIV)
• Assist to develop and refine materials related to TB-HIV integration such as clinical guidelines, protocols, algorithms, drug formularies and training materials
• Provide support to CSO (TB/HIV) and state offices to initiate and enhance TB/HIV integration services at sites
• Support to state offices CSO (TB/HIV) to train staff at DOTS Sites on HIV counseling and testing
• Assist to develop, maintain and enhance TB-HIV integration links between organization and Government of Nigeria officials, donors and partner organizations
• Assist to develop and evaluate TB screening and diagnostic tools for children and introducing TB/HIV pediatric care and treatment

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability

• Advanced Medical Degree (MD preferred), Medicine, or Public health Clinical with experience in HIV/AIDS/TB treatment
• At least 2 years experience in providing HIV/TB care and treatment services
• Skills in clinical issues and current literature in HIV/AIDS/TB
• Knowledge and experience in the design, implementation and management of FllV/AIDS program preferred

4.) Senior Clinical Services Associate (Palliative Care)

Location: Abuja

• Incumbent will provide technical support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment, working with organization clinicians and health facility- based site teams to implement palliative care services to HIV/AIDS clients.
• Support the strengthening of leadership capacity of the supported facilities in the coordination with all stakeholders to ensure access to quality palliative care for HIV patients, to provide supervision on planning and implementation of all aspect of Home based care and palliative care that are consistent with the national HIV/AIDS plan in Nigeria.
• Ensure the provision of quality services to VCs, PABAs and People Living with HIV.
• Ensure coordination and linkages of HIV services including Tuberculosis, Malaria and other diseases
• Provide support for quality assurance and quality improvement at the facilities.
• Provision of ongoing mentoring and hands on supervision to site clinicians for effective services delivery
• Render technical support to facility staff in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.

Qualifications & Skills, Knowledge & Ability

• Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health or a related field.
• At least 3 years post NYSC experience working on international health issues including HIV, with at least two years working on HIV/AIDS counseling and testing programs in international or resource poor settings.
• Ability to work independently with strong problem solving skills. Ability to foresee problems and initiate appropriate action
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and make reasoned judgments in a timely fashion
• Experience of dealing with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.

• Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Significant amount of travel may be involved for all positions.
