Job Title: Head Chef

Location: Abuja (FCT) 

Position Summary

• The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, ensure consistent food quality, manage kitchen staff, control food costs, maintain hygiene standards, and drive menu innovation.
• The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for food, operational excellence, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations:

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensure all meals are prepared and presented according to established standards.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation.
• Monitor food preparation processes to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and implement standard recipes and kitchen procedures.

Menu Development:

• Design and update menus based on customer preferences, seasonality, and business goals.
• Create innovative dishes that align with the Whispers Art Haus brand.
• Conduct regular menu reviews and recommend improvements.

Team Leadership & Management:

• Lead, supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching where necessary.
• Create kitchen schedules and manage staff productivity.
• Foster teamwork, discipline, professionalism, and accountability within the kitchen.

Inventory & Cost Control:

• Monitor food inventory and place orders when required.
• Minimize food waste and implement cost-control measures.
• Track food costs and ensure operations remain within budget.
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure quality ingredients are sourced.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to hygiene and safety standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and corrective actions where necessary.

Business Growth & Customer Satisfaction:

• Work closely with management to improve customer experience.
• Support events, catering services, and special dining experiences.
• Respond promptly to customer feedback regarding food quality.
• Contribute ideas that enhance revenue and operational efficiency.

Requirement

• Interested candidates should possess an HND qualification.
