Job Summary
A reputable organization requires the services of a disciplined, detail-oriented, intelligent, practical, and highly organized Inventory, Costing & Assets Officer to manage inventory records, stock control, material movement, costing support, asset register, stock reconciliation, and inventory control across multiple locations, stores, warehouses, project sites, offices, field locations, and operational units.
The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking items received, issued, transferred, used, damaged, expired, returned, sold, wasted, or disposed of.
The role will also support costing of materials, products, equipment, tools, operational consumables, project materials, and fixed assets.
This role is best suited for someone with strong inventory-control experience dealing with large inventories, varied stock categories, multiple store locations, warehouse records, asset tracking, costing, reconciliation, reporting, and internal control support.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate inventory records for all stock received, issued, transferred, returned, damaged, expired, sold, wasted, or disposed of.
Track products, materials, equipment, tools, spare parts, consumables, packaging materials, operational supplies, project materials, and other stock items.
Track stock movement across stores, warehouses, project sites, field locations, departments, vehicles, offices, and operational units.
Track project materials issued to project sites, field teams, client projects, partner projects, and internal operations.
Maintain stock ledgers, bin cards, inventory registers, goods received notes, stock issue notes, transfer notes, and material usage records.
Conduct periodic stock counts and support surprise stock checks.
Reconcile physical stock with inventory records and report discrepancies.
Support costing of materials, products, project items, tools, equipment, consumables, and operational stock.
Allocate material usage to appropriate projects, departments, sites, clients, activities, or cost centers.
Maintain fixed asset register and support asset tagging.
Track asset location, user/custodian, condition, purchase details, serial number, and maintenance status.
Monitor expired, damaged, obsolete, slow-moving, missing, or high-risk inventory.
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory, costing, and asset reports.
Requirements
HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Store Management, Warehouse Management, Operations Management, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ practical experience in inventory control, stock management, storekeeping, warehouse operations, costing, asset management, finance support, procurement support, logistics support, or related roles.
Experience dealing with large stock volumes, small stock items, diverse inventory categories, multiple stores, warehouses, distribution points, project sites, field locations, or operational units will be a strong advantage.
Experience in warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG, retail distribution, food production, construction materials, logistics, trading, project operations, industrial materials, agriculture, agribusiness, or any inventory-heavy environment will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of stock movement documentation, goods received notes, stock issue notes, bin cards, stock ledgers, inventory registers, asset registers, and stock reconciliation.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, inventory software, accounting software, or ERP systems.
Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
Ability to conduct stock counts, investigate variances, and prepare inventory reports.
Ability to maintain asset register and support asset tagging.
High level of honesty, discipline, confidentiality, and accountability.
Must be willing to visit stores, warehouses, project sites, offices, field locations, and operational sites where required.
