We are recruiting for the positions of:
1.) Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Incumbent provides technical support in the delivery of high quality laboratory services to health facility based sites
- Plan and coordinate laboratory activities at sites in designated states
- Develop laboratory capacity at designated sites through on-going monitoring and hands-on supervision.
- Ensures the monitoring of efficient documentation of laboratory results at designated sites
- Prepare periodic progress reports on laboratory services at designated sites
- Monitor quality management/quality assurance activities. Assist with the provision of support (training, on the job TA, etc.) to laboratory staff and the service providers to improve the quality of services that are provided. Develop guidelines for conducting QM assessments.
- Work with Strategic Information to develop tools to collect, process, analyze and widely disseminate information collected during QA processes.
- Review performance and quality of service delivery for health care workers.
- Develop guidelines for conducting QM assessments and serves as resource and technical consultant to local physicians, local clinical and hospital laboratory personnel and health department staff
Qualifications & Skills, Knowledge & Ability
- Degree in related course and 5 years related work experience in Lab science or epidemiology
- At least 5 years post NYSC experience in Laboratory activities and Monitoring/Evaluation of HIV/AIDS programs in Nigeria
- Ability to demonstrate independent judgment
- Knowledge of regulatory agency standards
- Experience in Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Word Excel and Access preferred
- Registration with the Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
2.) Laboratory Services Officer x3
Location: Abuja, Benue, Kaduna
Responsibilities
- Incumbent provides support in ensuring delivery of high quality laboratory services required for HIV/AIDS care and treatment services at supported facilities
- Assist with planning and coordinating laboratory activities at sites in designated states
- Train site laboratory staff on use of Standard Operating Procedures, job aids, log books, referral forms, etc
- Ensure and monitor efficient documentation of laboratory results at designated sites
- Prepare periodic progress reports on laboratory services at designated sites.
- Maintain inventory of Lab store.
- Monitor and report on quality management/quality assurance activities.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Valid Certificate to practice as Medical Laboratory Scientist mandatory
- At least 5 years post NYSC experience in Laboratory activities. Knowledge and experience in design, implementation and management of laboratory services in HIV/AIDS program an asset.
- Experience in Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Word Excel and Access preferred
- Registration with the Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
3.) Senior Laboratory Quality Associate
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Incumbent provides supervision, mentoring and technical assistance to the program (field office staff and facilities based Laboratory teams to develop/review quality assurance policy document for lab services and Establish/implement TQMS in each facility.
- Assist with the provision of technical assistance regarding the design suitable EQA program that meets international standard
- Assist to coordinate the work of the laboratory in supported sites with other division and department programs
- Operationalize strategic objectives of technical and service quality, monitoring, controlling and evaluating department activities, as well as evaluating and implementing new tools, technologies and procedures
- Develops contract service plans and negotiates contracts for diagnostic services
- Serves as resource and technical consultant to local physicians, local clinical and hospital laboratory personnel and health department staff
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Valid Certificate to practice as Medical Laboratory Scientist is mandatory
- At least 3 years post NYSC experience in a Laboratory activities
- Knowledge and experience in design, implementation and management of laboratory services in HIV/AIDS program asset.
- Experience in Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred
- Registration with the Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
3.) Laboratory Associate x7
Location: Abuja, Benue, Gombe, Kaduna, Kogi
Responsibilities
- Incumbent provides technical support in the delivery of high quality laboratory services to health facility based sites
- Assist in planning and coordination of laboratory activities
- Ensure laboratory capacity at designated sites through on-going monitoring and hands-on supervision
- Train site laboratory staff on use of Standard Operating Procedures, job aids, log books, referral forms, etc
- Ensure the monitoring of efficient documentation of laboratory results at designated sites
- Preparing periodic progress reports on laboratory services
- Maintain inventory of Laboratory store
- Monitor and report on quality management) assurance activities.
