We are recruiting for the positions of:
1.) Senior Compliance Associate
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Incumbent will be responsible for providing support in the implementation of financial systems, legal and donor related compliances of the organization.
- Support development, initiation and revising policies and procedures forthe general operation of the organization and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct
- Coordinates compliance activities to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends
- Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
- Conduct regular audit to determine the accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with policies and guidelines
- Develops audit programs and internal control systems for the organization's business activity areas
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls systems and recommend improvements as necessary. Prepares audit report with recommendations.
- Develop internal work plan to resolve/clear findings of external audits
- Ensure all organizational activities are in line with contractual obligations and agreements with respective grant funders
- Advise on financial transactions and compliance to policies and guidelines.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- First degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent. CPA. ACA, ICAN or recognized equivalent will be an advantage.
- At least 3 years post NYSC international NGO experience in a similar position: grant management, project design, proposal development (program narratives and budgets)
- Knowledge of institutional donors (United Nations, USAID/CDC, DFID, etc.) regulations, procedures and requirements a plus working knowledge of ADS, 22 CFR 226, 22 CFR 228, OMB Circulars; Federal Acquisition Regulations; and other donor regulations
- Ability to work independently and with proactive communication skills is essential
- Good attention to detail with ability to follow, applies, interpret, and explain instructions and/or guidelines
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and make reasoned judgments in a timely fashion.
- Committing to a course of action without undue delay or prevarication
2.) Compliance Associate
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Incumbent will provide support in the implementation of financial systems, legal and donor related compliances of the organization
- Revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the organization and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
- Support regular audit to determine the accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with policies and guidelines. Review the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls systems and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Support the preparation of audit report with recommendations.
- Review internal work plan to resolve clear findings of external audits
- Ensure all organizational activities are in line with contractual obligations and agreements with respective grant funders

3.) Sub-Contract Accountant
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Incumbent identifies and conducts pre-award assessment of potential sub recipients for the state in collaboration with the Subcontracts Finance Manager and State office team
- Advise and train sub recipients on all applicable USG laws and regulations, funding agencies rules and regulations, terms and conditions of the subcontract
- Ensure consistent application of USG rules and regulations in financial and administrative policies/standards of sub recipient's by developing systems and tools for sub recipients financial management; training staff in their use, review all sub recipients reports and advance requests; facilitate sub recipients payments, and monitor their advances from source
- Assist in execution of new subcontracts and subcontract close outs.
- Conduct financial monitoring including site visits and review of financial reports and their supporting documents.
- Review audit reports filed by sub recipients and corrective action taken by sub recipients in response to audit findings
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- First degree in Accounting, Finance or its recognized equivalent. Post professional qualification (CPA. ACA, ICAN or recognized equivalent)
- At least 5 years post NYSC experience in financial management, accounting, and administration, preferably with at least one year of NGO experience in a similar position in an CDC/USAID funded project
- Working experience with USG financial rules and regulations and procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to be able to accept and discharge substantial responsibilities, to prioritize work assignments, to meet deadlines, and to exercise professional judgment.
- Good attention to detail with ability to follow, applies, interpret, and explain instructions and/or guidelines.
- Good working knowledge of financial systems.
4.) Senior Finance & Admin Associate x3
Location: Gombe, Benue, Akwa Ibom
Responsibilities
- Incumbent is responsible for coordination of finance and general administrative related functions expected within the state office.
- Responsible for state office budget preparation and expenditure monitoring
- Monitor program expenditures, monthly field expenses, including budget to actual expenses, and reporting on financial results and cost projections
- Support the preparation of monthly reports for program activities in the field, in close collaboration with the Finance manager
- Supervise the coordination of logistics, including transportation and lodging arrangements, for meetings, workshops, conferences, and short-term personnel
- Oversee purchases of office supplies, as well as general office operations and maintenance where necessary.
- Monitors the performance of all contracts entered into for the provision of services, goods and works of the field office
- Ensure that the information in the fixed asset register accurately reflects the information for the financial system
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- First degree or equivalent qualification in accounting
- At least 3 years post NYSC experience in an accounting role preferably In International NGO setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good working knowledge of financial systems, Word, Excel and Outlook required and Ability to learn and become proficient in the use of applicable software for financial reporting
- Independent judgment and discretion in completing assignments seeking approval as appropriate
5.) Sub-Contract Associate x 4
Location: Abuja, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Benue
Responsibilities
- Incumbent identifies and conducts pre-award assessment of potential sub recipients for the state in collaboration with the Subcontracts Finance Manager and State team.

6.) Grant Officer
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Incumbent will act as the primary contact for all contracts, grants, and agreements. Review program/project proposals to ensure technical compliance and consistency with organizational program principles and donor funding criteria.
- Develop grant narratives working in close coordination with the Programs units.
- Provide guidance for problem solving in relation to a wide variety of implementation, programmatic and regulatory difficulties that may arise in large programs.
- Ensure maintenance full compliance with legal and documentation requirements for all procurement activities in accordance with the requirements of CDC/USG and other donors
- Coordinate institutional responses to project bids and ensure narrative addresses all elements of Request For Proposals (RFPs) or Request for Applications (RFAs)
- Ensure ongoing monitoring of grant program goals and monthly performance reports as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Degree in Social Sciences or Management and a Master's degree desired
- At least 5 years of progressive management and supervisory experience managing donor-funded projects, grants and/or cooperative agreements.
- Proven track record in grant writing including but not limited to international donor grants, capacity building proposals and funding requests to private and public foundations
- Knowledge of grants and grant administration systems, processes and budgeting
- Demonstrated experience and success managing technical and administrative teams in the implementation of development and health programs in developing country settings
- Must have in-depth knowledge of USG rules and regulations as they pertain to technical, financial and administrative project function
- Candidate must have working knowledge of USG/CDC funding agency procedures and compliance requirements and regulations of sponsored research; contracting and subcontracting practices; legal distinctions between gifts, grants, knowledge of federal agency practices, regulations and policies; conflicts of interest and intellectual property
- Sound working knowledge of funding source (e.g. USG, DfID, World Bank, Global Fund) rules and regulations.

- Significant amount of travel may be involved for all positions.
