Job Summary
The IT Officer is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support, maintaining the hotel's Information Technology infrastructure, and ensuring the continuous operation of all IT systems, hardware, software, and communication networks.
The role supports the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring of the hotel's Property Management System (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, network infrastructure, internet services, CCTV, access control systems, servers, and end-user devices to ensure seamless business operations and excellent guest service.
The IT Officer works closely with the IT Supervisor, IT Manager, and all operational departments, including Front Office, Finance & Accounts, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Engineering & Maintenance, Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Security, Spa, Procurement, and Stores to deliver reliable technology support in line with the hotel's superior luxury hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Help Desk:
Provide first-level technical support to hotel employees.
Respond promptly to IT support requests and service tickets.
Diagnoseandresolvehardware, software, and network issues.
Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
Provide technical assistance during meetings, conferences, and hotel events.
Escalate unresolved issues to the IT Supervisor or IT Manager.
Maintain excellent customer service throughout support activities.
Document all support activities accurately.
Hardware Installation & Maintenance:
Install and configure new IT equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on computers and peripherals.
Replace defective hardware components.
Monitor hardware performance.
Maintain printers, scanners, barcode readers, and POS devices.
Ensure proper labeling of IT equipment.
Coordinate hardware repairs.
Maintain equipment maintenance records.
Network Support:
Monitor wired and wireless network connectivity.
Troubleshoot network issues.
Assist in configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Support internet connectivity for guests and staff.
Report network outages promptly.
Monitor bandwidth utilization.
Assist during network upgrades.
Maintain network documentation.
Hotel Systems Support:
Support the Property Management System (PMS).
Maintain Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals.
Support accounting software.
Assist with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
Monitor system integrations.
Install software updates.
Resolve user application issues.
Support business-critical hotel systems.
User Account Administration:
Create user accounts based on approved requests.
Reset passwords.
Assign appropriate user permissions.
Deactivate user accounts promptly.
Maintain user access records.
Support Active Directory administration.
Ensure compliance with access control policies.
Protect user credentials.
Cybersecurity Support:
Install and update antivirus software.
Monitor endpoint protection.
Support security patch installations.
Identify and report suspicious activities.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies.
Assist in vulnerability remediation.
Promote cybersecurity awareness among staff.
Protect confidential information.
CCTV & Security Systems Support:
Monitor CCTV equipment.
Support access control systems.
Maintain biometric attendance devices.
Assist with surveillance system maintenance.
Reportequipment failures.
Coordinate repairs.
Maintain security system documentation.
Support security investigations where required.
Backup & Data Protection:
Perform scheduled data backups.
Monitor backup success.
Verify backup integrity.
Assist in restoring data where required.

Support disaster recovery procedures.

Ensure data security compliance.
IT Asset Management:
Maintain accurate IT asset registers.
Track equipment allocation.
Conduct periodic asset verification.
Reportmissing or damaged equipment.
Monitor warranties.
Support procurement activities.
Ensure proper disposal of obsolete equipment.
Maintain inventory records.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain helpdesk records.
Update technical documentation.
Document system configurations.
Maintain software license records.
Record maintenance activities.
Maintain user support logs.
Protect confidential IT documentation.
Ensure audit-ready records.
Vendor Coordination:
Assist vendors during maintenance visits.
Coordinate hardware repairs.
Monitor warranty claims.
Support equipment installations.
Reportvendor performance issues.
Assist with software installations.
Coordinate routine maintenance.
Support procurement documentation.
Reporting:
Prepare daily IT support reports.
Report unresolved technical issues.
Track recurring incidents.
Prepare maintenance reports.
Monitor helpdesk performance.

Recommend technical improvements.
Submit reports within approved timelines.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with all hotel departments.
Provide technical assistance to employees.
Support technology requirements for events and conferences.

Support operational excellence.
Provide excellent customer service.
Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement:
Comply with health and safety procedures during installations and repairs.
Ensure proper handling of IT equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
Experience:
2 – 4 yearsof experience in Information Technology, technical support, network administration, or helpdesk operations.
Experience in a hotel, hospitality organization, or service-oriented environment is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience supporting hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, Microsoft Windows environments, networking infrastructure, CCTV systems, and end-user computing is an added advantage.
Professional Certifications (Preferred):
CompTIA A+.
CompTIA Network+.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent.
CompTIA Security+(added advantage).
ITIL Foundation Certification(added advantage).
Certification in Microsoft 365 Administration(added advantage).
Proficiency in Opera PMS, Micros POS, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking technologies, and basic cybersecurity tools is an added advantage.
