Job Title: Porter

Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)

Department: Operations / Store Operations
Reports To: Store Supervisor / Operations Manager

Job Summary

• The Porter is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the store by receiving, loading, unloading, transporting, and arranging merchandise safely and efficiently.
• The role ensures products are moved to the appropriate locations, shelves are replenished, and the store and storage areas remain clean and organized.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles.
• Receive and transport merchandise to the appropriate storage or sales areas.
• Assist in stocking shelves and replenishing inventory on the sales floor.
• Arrange products neatly in the warehouse and storage areas.
• Support inventory counts and stock-taking exercises.
• Inspect goods for damage and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, loading bay, and storage areas.
• Handle products carefully to minimize damage or loss.
• Assist other store departments during busy periods when required.
• Comply with all company health, safety, and operational policies.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a retail store, warehouse, or logistics environment is an added advantage.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy items.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Honest, reliable, and willing to learn.
