Job Title: Head, Asset Operations and Construction

Job Description

• They are seeking an exceptional leader to join as head, asset operations and construction, responsible for driving operational excellence and profitability across investee companies and operating assets.
• The role covers the full asset lifecycle from inception and construction, through commissioning and operational transition, to scaling and performance optimisation.
• This is a high-impact leadership position suited to a seasoned operations executive capable of operating effectively across construction sites, boardrooms, and financial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of assets across their lifecycle, including construction supervision, commissioning, operational transition, and scale-up.
• Drive asset profitability by developing performance benchmarks, monitoring returns, and implementing value-enhancing interventions.
• Lead process reengineering initiatives across portfolio companies to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with boards and management teams to define and execute long-term strategies, goals, and policies.
• Provide strategic oversight of both new and existing portfolio companies and infrastructure operations.
• Oversee recruitment of key personnel and manage vendor selection processes during construction and operational phases.
• Develop and manage integrated project plans, ensuring delivery of milestones on time and within budget.
• Implement investment strategies, policies, and procedures across portfolio assets.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all investment-related portfolio activities.
• Prepare and present periodic performance reports to senior management.
• Review project documentation including gap analyses, appraisal reports, and implementation agreements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification (mandatory).
• Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduate experience in operations management within infrastructure, conglomerate, or project-based environments.
• Proven experience managing asset transitions from construction to operations and scaling operational assets.
• Master’s degree (MBA or Operations Management) is an added advantage.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an added advantage.
• Experience in management consulting is an added advantage.
