Job Description
Our client is seeking a competent, detail-oriented Finance and Accounts Officer to join its operations team.
The ideal candidate would be responsiblefor supporting the organization's financial operations by maintaining accurate accounting records, managing accounts receivable and payable, assisting with payroll administration, preparing financial reports, monitoring expenses, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and statutory regulations.
The role contributes to sound financial management by ensuring timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting internal controls that promote accountability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping & Accounting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Recording financial transactions in accounting systems
Maintaining general ledger accounts
Preparing journal entries and reconciliations
Maintaining organized financial documentation
Supporting month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
Accounts Receivable & Client Billing:
Support the preparation and monitoring of client invoices and receivables.
Preparing and issuing client invoices for services rendered
Tracking outstanding receivables and following up on payments
Maintaining client billing records
Supporting reconciliation of payments received
Ensuring billing accuracy based on operational service agreements.
Accounts Payable Management:
Support the management of company payments and financial obligations.
Reviewing vendor invoices and payment requests
Preparing payment schedules
Processing payments in accordance with company procedures
Maintaining vendor payment records
Ensuring timely settlement of approved financial obligations.
Payroll Support:
Assist in coordinating payroll preparation and verification processes.
Supporting preparation of payroll data
Verifying salary calculations and allowances
Ensuring payroll records are properly maintained
Coordinating with HR and management regarding payroll adjustments.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing periodic financial reports to support management decision-making.
Preparing basic financial summaries
Assisting with monthly financial reports
Supporting budget monitoring and cost analysis
Identifying unusual financial trends or discrepancies.
Expense Monitoring & Cost Control
Support the monitoring of company expenditures and operational costs.
Tracking operational expenses
Verifying expense documentation
Supporting internal cost control procedures
Assisting management in maintaining financial discipline across departments.
Compliance & Financial Controls:
Support compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintaining proper financial documentation
Supporting audit preparation processes
Ensuring compliance with company financial procedures
Supporting implementation of internal financial control systems.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Minimum of4 -7 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
