Venmac Resources Limited - Our client, Bourdillon Hotel & Apartments is a hospitality brand in Abuja, Nigeria, featuring multiple branches. The most prominent locations are near the airport in Lugbe and within the Gwarinpa Estate.
We are seeking to recruit a highly experienced, disciplined, and result-driven Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel and apartment business.
The ideal candidate must possess exceptional leadership ability, excellent communication skills, strong financial discipline, and unquestionable integrity.
This position is suitable for an experienced hospitality professional who can drive operational excellence, increase revenue, improve guest satisfaction, and lead a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and supervision of all hotel operations.
Coordinate the activities of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Security, Reservations, Sales & Marketing, and Accounts.
Drive revenue growth by maximizing occupancy, room yield, banquet sales, restaurant revenue, and other income streams.
Ensure exceptional guest service standards and resolve guest complaints professionally.
Monitor daily operational performance and ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
Maintain strict financial discipline by ensuring proper accountability for company funds and assets.
Approve and monitor operational expenditures in line with approved budgets.
Supervise stock control, procurement processes, and inventory management to eliminate waste and losses.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial reports for Management.
Ensure all departments achieve their revenue and performance targets.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate departmental managers and supervisors.
Enforce discipline, professionalism, and excellent customer service among all employees.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, labour, and hospitality regulations.
Oversee preventive maintenance of hotel facilities and equipment.
Strengthen relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), and other business partners.
Protect company assets and ensure the highest level of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct across all departments.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in hotel operations, with at least 3 years in a senior management or Operations Manager role.
Demonstrable experience managing full-service hotels or serviced apartments.
Strong knowledge of hotel operations, revenue management, guest experience, housekeeping, food and beverage operations, and facility management.
Experience using Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Ezee Frontdesk, Opera, IDS, Cloudbeds, or similar platforms.
Strong financial management, budgeting, inventory control, and cost management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding leadership, people management, and problem-solving abilities.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Proven track record of increasing hotel revenue and improving operational performance.
Must possess excellent integrity, honesty, accountability, and professionalism.
Must have no history of financial misconduct or unethical behaviour.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays where necessary.
