Role Summary
Our client is looking for Head of Treasuryfor immediate employment.
The Head of Treasury is a critical executive seat responsible for managing the firm’s liquidity position, safeguarding corporate capital, and balancing our diverse liability portfolio against a fast-moving lending asset book.
This professional will oversee the mechanical allocation of incoming funds, ensure seamless cash flow for daily loan disbursement lines, minimize cost of funds (CoF), and maintain absolute regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in institutional liquidity structuring, debt service tracking, and asset-liability matchmaking within the Nigerian financial services sector.
Manage and optimize daily cash flow operations across all corporate accounts to ensure robust liquidity for immediate loan disbursements (payday, asset, and business loans).
Maintain optimal cash buffer thresholds to absorb sudden, high-volume credit drawdowns while minimizing idle cash dragged on yields.
Oversee corporate bank relationships, clearing systems, and transaction channels to negotiate lower transaction charges and competitive interest rates on current accounts.
Investment Portfolio & Liability Governance:
Manage the structuring, accounting, and lifecycle of inflows from the Surecredit Private Placement Note and the Surecredit Bilateral Asset Co-Ownership Scheme.
Track, model, and project future maturities, interest payments, and rollover volumes to eliminate maturity mismatch risks against the loan book.
Administer timely, accurate payouts of monthly, quarterly, or terminal yields to retail and institutional high-net-worth investors.
Partner with the Head of Marketing to provide treasury data, yields positioning, and liquidity proof metrics to backstop external fundraising pitches.
Asset-Liability Matching (ALM) & Risk Mitigation:
Chair the internal Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO), preparing data-driven weekly and monthly maturity gap profiles and sensitivity analyses.
Implement hedging strategies and liquidity stress testing to protect the firm from sudden macroeconomic shocks or sharp asset-side default spikes.
Track the exact Weighted Average Cost of Funds (WACF) against the internal loan yield margins to guarantee the company maintains healthy Net Interest Margins (NIM).
Regulatory Compliance & Financial Reporting:
Enforce compliance with all Lagos State lending regulations, state tax mandates, and relevant central banking or shadow banking cash reserve guidelines.
Design, refine, and continuously update internal treasury manuals, corporate governance policy controls, and fund allocation policies.
Produce precise daily liquidity reports and weekly macro-treasury dashboards for presentation directly to the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Professional Certifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an analytical business field.
Certifications: Professional certification such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, ACTA (Association of Corporate Treasurers of Nigeria), or a relevant professional treasury diploma is highly mandatory.
Experience & Track Record:
Industry Tenure: Minimum of 8–12 years of core treasury or cash management experience within an Investment House, Finance Company, Tier-1 Microfinance Bank, Fintech Lender, or Tier-2 Commercial Bank in Nigeria.
Leadership Focus: At least 3–5 years in a distinct treasury leadership, managerial, or ALCO-facing capacity.
Domain Mastery: Practical history managing complex asset-backed investments, structured private debt instruments, or bilateral co-ownership programs.
Technical & Soft Skills:
ALM Software Mastery: Advanced financial modeling skills in Microsoft Excel, along with experience using core banking applications or modern treasury management systems (TMS).
Macroeconomic Literacy: Deep analytical understanding of the local fixed-income market, treasury bills yields, and alternative lending structures.
Negotiation & Precision: High-level mathematical ability, extreme attention to operational details, and sharp negotiating skills with commercial banks and primary dealers.
Remuneration
N1,500,000 monthly net pay – above based on value offering.
