Job Title: AC Technician

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Job Summary

• Ensuring quality workmanship, following safety procedures, supervising and scheduling staff and contractors, and monitoring the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.  

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess systems to identify any potential problems
• Repair or replace worn out or defective parts in the air conditioning system
• Install new air conditioning systems and ensure they are functioning efficiently
• Perform routine maintenance on air conditioning systems to ensure they are operating at optimal capacity
• Test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions
• Advise clients on how to reduce energy consumption and maintain their air conditioning systems
• Document each aspect of a system, including all maintenance and repair work, as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance
• Ensure all installations and repairs meet industry standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations
• Respond to emergency calls for system repair and maintenance
• Install, maintain and repair air conditioning systems and equipment
• Identify maintenance risks on equipment
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions
• Perform regular maintenance work on cooling units
• Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards
• Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to test and repair equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an OND or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant electrical working experience, as well as in the food industry.

Technical Competencies:

• Technical skills to understand and repair a variety of air conditioning units, including commercial, residential and automotive systems.
• Problem-solving abilities to identify, diagnose and correct any issues or malfunctions in the air conditioning systems.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy equipment and work in confined or high spaces.
• Attention to detail to ensure all parts are installed correctly, systems are running smoothly, and any potential issues are identified early.
• Customer service skills to interact with clients, understand their needs, answer their queries and provide satisfactory service.
• Knowledge of safety measures and regulations to ensure all work is completed in a safe and legal manner.
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and manuals.
• Time management skills to complete tasks within given deadlines and plan maintenance schedules effectively.
