We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Boiler Operator 

Location: Iganmu, Lagos

Job Purpose 

• To operate and maintain steam boilers and associated utility equipment to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted supply of steam for production processes in compliance with FMN operating standards, quality requirements, and HSE regulations. 

The Job

• Operating and monitoring boiler systems, including feedwater pumps, burners, and fuel systems, to maintain required steam pressure and temperature. 
• Conducting routine inspections on boiler equipment, water levels, steam quality, and feedwater parameters to ensure optimal performance. 
• Performing water treatment tests and adjusting chemical dosing to prevent corrosion, scaling, and foaming. 
• Safely starting up and shutting down boilers in accordance with approved operating procedures. 
• Monitoring and responding promptly to boiler alarms, equipment faults, and abnormal operating conditions. 
• Carrying out first-level maintenance activities, including blowdown routines, equipment cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of safety devices. 
• Maintaining accurate records of boiler operations, chemical usage, steam consumption, and shift activities. 

Requirements
The Person Must:

• Possess a sound understanding of industrial boiler operations and steam systems. 
• Demonstrate practical knowledge of water treatment processes and boiler chemistry. 
• Have the ability to monitor and interpret operating parameters and identify abnormalities. 
• Possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
• Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and adherence to HSE practices. 

Qualification:

• 5 O’ level credits including Mathematics &English in not more than 2 sittings. 
• Technical certification would be an added advantage. 

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating industrial boilers, steam systems, or utility equipment in a manufacturing environment.
